I also had a cigar box we had picked up in New York and I decided this would make a good display case for the rectangular pendants, Adding open eye hooks and some bamboo kebab skewers in the back of the box to stop the pendants swinging back when I stood it on a display stand, I think it works. I also added eyelet screws on the box lid to hang a pendant with ribbon attached.

Turning my hand to Jewellery
Oh I was like a child at Christmas last week when I received a little gift to myself. A box of jewellery supplies to make jewellery featuring my art work. I had seen a few blogs and people making pendant tray and glass jewellery on Etsy and after reading a really informative blog by Jasmin at http://jasminstudiocrafts.blogspot.com I decided to take the plunge.
I bought a range of rectangle and square pendant trays and ring blanks and some glass from Jasmin of the previously mentioned blog, and I think I may be hooked.
I followed all the instructions, had a few teething problems on the way, too much glue/too little glue/glue reacting with the silver plate but after re-working a few pieces, I am happy with my first attempts, and it's nice to see a different format for my work.

I am a bit of fumble fingers and like to make a mess when creating new pieces so this has been a test of my patience, as I had to wait between layers of sealant drying, applying the images to the glass and completing the piece and had to keep everything neat and tidy, no erasers or re-applying of paint here.
Hopefully I will have a craft stall at the Cabrera Fiesta on June the 4th, just hoping it's not baking hot, there is no way I will be able to have a refreshing beer either as the windy road back down is a nightmare. Anyway just waiting for some more supplies to arrive and then will post some more creations, however if you want to take a look of some of my recent designs don't forget to check out my etsy site http://www.etsy.com/shop/biancahewson
